I had been motivated by science all along, also, to me Science and Arts are two sides of the same coin.

I began actively working with science some 4–5 years back.

Presently along with the work I do I also read through how the scientific conversations are going on around us and how are they shaping Science and the broader facets of our life, our existence.

I belong from a background of people who have been predominantly involved with science. Though before the last 5 years I was not actively involved but was always a person who was keen on logical and scientific thinking.

Like every other professional out there the trajectory of learning and work is going in its own pace but what is interesting is the Whispers as well as the Loudness around us shaping Scientific thinking and conversations. The finding, nurturing, producing, and curating of facts and findings. The predictions and the mis predictions, online and offline, the pulverizing and then again rising of ideas and beliefs from the ashes. Yes, in science just as theories, just as hypotheses, there are beliefs too. Not how one might imagine but beliefs don’t stand in the way of facts, they mainly play in the domain of the structure, structure of scientific thoughts, structure of scientific pathways, structure of scientific involvements, structure of science related industries and so on and so forth.

Coming back to Scientific Conversations, they start from the tip of your pen (or the keyboard) and travel through the tangible papers, slightly less tangible online spaces, and the totally intangible human minds. The topics, the points, the counterpoints, the rhetoric, etc. not only shape the pathway for scientific thought but many a times they set the agenda for the end consumers. The Scientific Paper is just one of the initial points of references, the main foothold of thoughts takes place through dialogues and witnessing scientific dialogues is an interesting thing. When the acceptance of a particular topic blows up, more and more people from the scientific communities get involve in its dialogues, if it produces some end consumer super product then people from beyond the scientific communities join in too. For instance, Chat GPT brought in LLMs to the mainstream conversation.

Points when made must be acceptable to criticism, but that is rarely the case, hence many a times the conversation ends like it didn’t end, that too is a growing period for the idea in question.

Conversations forks up and give way to new areas which earlier lacked insights. The more the brains involved, the more the criticism, the more the lag period in between, the more the forks — richer is the outcome.

People working in scientific fields, tech, etc. or the one’s still studying or upgrading, listening to scientific conversations is a major tool and an added virtue that can give you a defining edge over others. Start listening!!!
